Everyone says there are too many hair salons. They’re wrong. The salon model explains exactly why our local journalism "plumbing" is broken—and how to fix it.
Hi Yoni. I completely agree that the infrastructure comes first. The biggest issue the industry has - especially at the hyper-local level - is the lack of tech know-how. The tech infrastructure has to be built for engagement and reach, and be replicable in multiple markets. Local publishers then focus on news and revenue. We built a SaaS that does just this and use it ourselves. Check out iappnetwork.com and download the Wānaka App, to see how it works in a local community. Tony e:tony@wanakaapp.nz
