Weekend Reflections
After a week in Chicago, I’m reminded that the future of journalism is still bright — and that a little rest, reflection, and fall color go a long way.

As I wrote yesterday, I’m still catching my breath after an invigorating week in Chicago. For anyone who says the future of journalism isn’t bright, I’d challenge them to spend even one week in the Windy City. They’d see what I saw — energy, ideas, and people who still believe in the work.
Here’s what I published this past week:
Vibe Coding and the End of Permission
How new no-code tools are changing who gets to build — and why creativity now belongs to those willing to experiment, not just those who can code. The Word That Can Change How You Lead
A look at the quiet power of the word “yet,” and how it can reshape how we think about progress, potential, and the people we lead. The Strategy of a Handshake
On why in-person connection still matters — and how simple moments of real human contact can rebuild trust in teams and organizations. The Death of the Conference (and the Rise of the Connected Room)
Why the future of professional gatherings isn’t about bigger stages, but deeper conversations that turn a room of strangers into a shared purpose.Practicing What I Preach
A short reflection on rest, creative recovery, and knowing when to hit pause instead of pushing through.
That about covers it. I hope you’re getting a chance to enjoy the fall weather. The trees here in Montgomery County, PA are starting to turn those deep reds and bright golds — my favorite time of year to just step outside and breathe it in.
Hope you’ve enjoyed reading Backstory & Strategy this week as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. I’ll be back Monday with more.
Until then,
Yoni
